Privacy notice.
This notice explains what personal data Marketia collects when you contact us through this website, why we collect it, how we store it, and what rights you have over it. Short version: we only ask for the information we need to reply to you, we don't sell it, and you can ask us to delete it whenever you like.
Who we are
Marketia is a marketing and technology partnership based in Liverpool, United Kingdom. For the purposes of the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 we are the data controller of the information you provide to us through this website.
If you have a question about this notice or about how we handle your data, you can contact us through the enquiry form on our home page.
What we collect
When you fill out the contact form on our site, we collect:
- Your name — so we know what to call you.
- Your email address — so we can reply.
- Your company name (optional) — so we have some context before the call.
- Your consent that we may contact you about your enquiry.
We don't set any tracking cookies. We don't run analytics. We don't fingerprint your device. We don't pass your details to advertising networks.
Why we collect it
We use the information you provide for one reason: to respond to the enquiry you submitted. We will not use it to send you marketing emails, we will not add you to a mailing list, and we will not share it with anyone else.
Our legal basis for processing your data is your explicit consent, given when you tick the consent box on the form.
How long we keep it
If your enquiry becomes a client relationship, we keep your details for as long as that relationship lasts, plus a reasonable period afterwards for record-keeping and legal obligations (typically six years, in line with HMRC requirements).
If your enquiry doesn't turn into work together, we'll delete your details within 12 months of our last exchange unless you ask us to do it sooner.
Who sees your data
The form submits to a secure webhook that delivers the details to us directly. The only third parties involved are:
- The hosting provider that runs this website.
- The service that handles form delivery to our inbox.
Both are bound by their own data processing agreements and neither reads the content of what you send beyond what's required to deliver it.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Ask us what data we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct anything that's wrong.
- Ask us to delete your data ("right to be forgotten").
- Ask us to export your data to you in a readable format.
- Withdraw your consent at any time.
- Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office if you think we've mishandled your data. You can do that at ico.org.uk.
To exercise any of these rights, get in touch through the form on our home page and we'll respond within 30 days.
Cookies
This website does not use cookies. We don't need consent banners because there's nothing to consent to.
Changes to this notice
If we change how we handle data, we'll update this page and update the "last updated" date at the top. We won't apply material changes retroactively to data we already hold without telling you first.
